Popallin Safari Ranch - wildlife and golf

Popallin Safari Ranch is 60 km from Tshipise (a Forever warm water resort in Limpopo) and about the same distance from the most northern gate into Kruger National Park, the Pafuri gate. It borders for 21 km on the Limpopo river. The Malaladrif road which can also be reached from Musina runs through it. The owner Peet Bezuidenhout is well known in game/hunting circles, but he is also a well known golf course designer and developer. Fancourt near George is one of his products.

We stayed in the self-catering Zebra Camp, one of three camps offered by Popallin Safari Ranch. The others are De Wet's Camp, a fully catered luxury lodge on the beautiful Nwanedzi river, and Segonde Camp, also on the Nwanedzi river, with campsites offering all the expected facilities.

Popallin ranch is a family run business with lucerne farming, hunting, wild life breeding (white lions and Cape buffalo), game viewing, nature excursions, and of course the golf. The Popallin Safari Golf Course next to the Nwanedzi river is in a unique bushveld setting and every golf lover's dream.

The Bezuidenhout family are enthusiastic and special people. De Wet Bezuidenhout (jnr) is in grade one at Malala Primary, the only single white child in a black school in SA. He is fluent in Venda, the local and school language.
